Yup we got engaged. Weve been together now for over 4 years, and as my mom put it - "It's about time!". Indeed. This journey that weve taken across the country has really changed things for Natasha and I. I told myself that if can make it to the east coast in the van with her, it's time to ask her to Marry me. So as we were getting to the Great Lakes, I started getting really excited about popping the big question. It's been so awesome learning about each other in this unique situation were in and it really solidified within me how much i love Natasha and wanted to be with her. As we traveled along the Great Lakes i tried to be sly and check out rings along the way. We had kinda talked about it a bit, but nothing really serious. I had got her to talk about the type of ring she would like if she ever got married. She said she really didn't care too much for the big rock stuff, but more of a band kinda thing. That kept me looking for a nice kind of band with hopefully some diamonds in it - cause i know diamonds are a girls best friend - it just is - i dunno why. Anyway - i had been looking for a while and still nothing. Then as we started heading into New England, I started getting nervous because we were getting so close to the East Coast. I Finally found a place in Vermont and i managed to sneak away to go buy it. I used the ole "I gotta got to the bathroom" excuse. My whole plan was to go to Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park where it's the first place in the country to see the sunrise. I thought that would be a neat thing to experience since we traveled so far together. We found a nice quiet spot to ourselves to watch the sunrise and as it came up, I told how great it was that we had just finished a great journey from West to East, Now i think it's time for a new journey - and that's when i pulled out the ring and got on one knee and asked her to be my wife. It was a pretty cool thing. Never been there before. It's been happy bliss since then. I hope you enjoy this update. It covers from the Black Hills of South Dakota, to the Great Lakes and Niagra Falls, and ending up at New England.

Well here we are with are second batch of updates. We still don't know how were gonna upload it to the internet, but if your reading this, that means we prolly pulled it off. After our first part of the trip through Big Sur - we headed back to Sacramento to work on a few things on the van (propane was leaking, DVD's weren't playing through the stereo). We took a week to make all the fixes and got the van all packed for the big trip. We even added a ladder in the back of the van to house the new bikes we got from WalMart. We said our final goodbyes to family in Sacramento and we headed north. This part of the trip covers the pacific Northwest and part of the Northern Rockies - Mainly Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. If you want to know what happened to Alaska - you're gonna have to read the Washington section. Hope you enjoy this update. We're currently in Billings Montana catching up on stuff (laundry, Groceries, washing the van, and uploading the website), and getting ready to head East.

Off we are on our little adventure. We've spent alot of time working on going on now were finally going. We really wanted to have a website to document our travels and display all the photos we've taken. Our original plan was to update it while were on the road. Well that technological challenge got the best of us and it seems that we'll be able to update it in batches as we find a place that will allow us to plug the laptop in and upload our images. If anybody else has got a good way to make updates to our site while on the road, send me and email and i'll check it out. Weve made the site pretty simple. Basically if you go to the Road trip index, you will be able to check out different areas of our road trip. For each area we've written a little story about it and we've included pictures that go along with it. The words written in this font are written by me (steve), and the words written in this font is by me (Natty). Weve just started so we have a but a few stories to tell. Basically it starts with us leaving san diego to go work on the van. As we got close to finishing we took a trip to Hawaii for my sister Tammy's Graduation, then we took a 2 week trip through Santa Barbara up the central coast to Big Sur and then Back to Sacramento to make some quick fixes to the van and get it ready for our big trip. Enjoy the stories - we'll update them as we go- when we can
